Immediately changing to a different item after charging a crossbow lets you charge it a second time

I was doing stuff in my test world until i tried to load up a crossbow quickly and switch to another item. I did not hear the "Crossbow loads" sound effect and when i tried to shoot the crossbow it didnt shoot but rather loaded again and played the sound effect.
