My house got half destroyed when the chunks weren't even loaded

I went mining for half an hour, and I returned to the surface and my village only to find my house half gone. The villagers were fine, so was my chest of loot (thankfully) I have no idea what caused this. It isn't in the shape of a creeper explosion even if one attacked a golem near my house.
