The /give command with the new attributes can go past survival levels

I went into the 24w09a, and started testing the new attributes. So, I ran the following command:

 

/give @s diamond_pickaxe[damage=15432]

I expected red text saying that I can't go past the 1561 durability of the pickaxe, but instead I ended up with the picture shown.
