Standing in Vines Being Shot by Skeleton Equals no damage

I was standing in vines AFK and i was being shot by skeleton. Yet no
damage was being dealt

What I expected to happen was...:
Damage to be dealt to player.

What actually happened was...:
Arrows were shot by skeleton. But arrows just went through me

Steps to Reproduce:
Stand in vines that are against a wall. With skeleton shooting at you.
