portals not working in singleplayer with experimental settings

whenever I try and go through a nether portal in my singleplayer world it won't tp to the nether and it is the same with end portal, my world does have experimental settings but I am not sure if that is the problem or not and I really don't want to lose this world because I sunken hours into it
