A large section of the map (vertical rectangular solid) is missing

The large volume is missing, black, cannot add blocks into it, and resists my attempts to enter the space. If/when I succeed in entering it, I fall through the bottom of the world.

I have attached a screenshot. I would be happy to supply my map, but it is 286 MB
