Backspace is not working in anvil renaming menu

Cannot use backspace in anvil renaming menu

What I expected to happen was...:
The anvil menu should cooperate with my backspace key

What actually happened was...:
It lets me add but not remove characters, but my backspace key isn't the problem here.
