Maps stop working after exiting a world

After crafting a map and registering it, the map went blank after exiting and rejoining a world

What I expected to happen was...:
The map would remain as full as I had filled it, regardless of whether or not I exited the world

What actually happened was...:
The map was blank and unable to be filled when rejoining the world

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Craft a blank map
2. Right click with said map in your hand to turn it into a fillable map
3. Exit the world and rejoin
