Blindness Bug

I was using the Large Potion of Night Vision (the 8 minute potion.) Because I am making an underground Zombie and skeleton Stronghold so i was about 30 blocks underground and it was to dark to mine right.

What I expected to happen was effect stacking. I used it 5 times to see if i could get it to stack
What happened was I then tried 3 a few more times and the screen went black. I tried closing the client but it didn't work The menu worked i had the selection bar for items and i could mine. and place blocks.
THERE IS A FIX I changed my setting for Render and it re rendered the chunk.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go underground
2. Turn all video setting to minimum and use Open GL (Turn Render to tiny)
3. Drink multiple Potions of Night Vision (8 minute one) back to back.
