1.20.1: minecraft buried treasure maps are broken

I was playing on my new 1.20.1 world, and I found 2 buried treasure maps. when I held them, nothing happened, and when I tried right clicking them they became a normal, no-x map. It looks like they were empty maps named buried treasure map.
