Thunderstorms occur without accompanying rain

A thunderstorm occurs, during the day, and the weather displays clear skies. Sky flashes with lightning strikes and the thunder sound plays, but there is no rain. (sound or graphic)

Unsure why it occurred, first noticed after returning to the overworld from the nether.

(I personally don't like the sound and animation for rain as I find it too busy, maybe could be a future feature?)
