Jumping from 2 blocks high appears to give damage

Jumping from a 2 blocks high off the ground will cause you to appear to take damage. The hurt sound, fall damage sound, and hearts flashing will happen, but nothing else.

What I expected to happen was...:
I would touch ground, no sound, nothing.

What actually happened was...:
I turned red, lost armour durability, my hearts flashed, and the hurt/falldamage sounds played.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. place two blocks on top of each other.
2. get on top.
3. jump off. JUMP, not FALL
