Book and Quill - whole pages of text disappearing

After writing in a book and quill, and using § to change the styling of the text several times in one page and then clicking done then reopening the nook and quill, the text I had just written will disappear. I tried to troubleshoot several times to get it it to save and it has deleted not just the page I had written but several pages that had been previously saved. Very frustrating that it deletes both previously and recently written text.
