Chests disappear in the "End"

When you first enter the "End" and place a chest, it disappears when you kill the dragon and enter the portal to the overworld.

What I expected to happen was...:
The chest has to remain intact and not disappear, after killing the dragon and entering the overworld.

What actually happened was...:
The first time I entered the "End" I placed a chest in a safe place. After slaying the dragon and entering the overworld, I returned and the chest was gone. The items that were inside the chest were on the ground.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to the "End", place a chest on top of it in the area where you appear (obsidian), you can place an item or not.
2. Kill the dragon.
3. Go to the overworld.
4. Go back to "The End" and the chest is gone.
