locked render distance in multiplayer(MacOs)

ive seen some of these reports but none of them was fixed but this on is on mac so by any chance there could be a solution i saw that u can mannualy change render distance in .minecraft folder i dont know how to do that so any help ?The server this is happening on is powered by aternos and doesnt have a maximum render distance.This is happening on an m1
