Wolfs appearing to be standing up while sitting

after downloading the 1.4.4 pre-release I went and tamed some wolves and when I came back to my shelter and sat them down they actually did sit down. after that I left and when I came back they were all standing up but they were acting as if they were sitting down. I tried right clicking them but they didn't do anything still behaving as if they were sitting. I don't know if this happens in creative mode as well.
