I can’t hit or interact with any entity

As I said, I can neither hit nor interact with any entity. I can use the sword and break blocks with it, but when I aim at an entity and left click to kill it, it won't let me, the sword doesn't move or do anything all this happens with the hand with a shovel with whatever
