mangrove root texture is strange

When a block is next to the mangrove root, its interior texture becomes completely dark leaving a visual bug aspect

What I expected to happen was...:
That the pixels stay the same as the pure root or that the dark coloring just gets lighter

Steps to Reproduce:
1. place a block next to the root
