Passing over the lava by boat can lead to ignition

If you dig up 1 block under a boat and pour lava there, a player passing on a boat over that spot will catch fire. This is due to the contact of the player's hitbox sticking out from the bottom of the boat with the lava. There is also extinguishing from water.
