Multiplayer not working

Me and another user have been trying to play in each other's worlds for a week. We don't have an internet issue, we both have checked the multiplayer options, we both are on play station 4 with play station 4 plus, we have contacted both play station and minecraft contact support but they were unable to help and said it could be a possible bug and to contact you.
