Snapshot not being applied to new worlds

When playing the new snapshot, none of the new items exist

What I expected to happen was...:
For the new items and smithing table to be accessible

What actually happened was...:
No new items were added, nor has the smithing tables UI changed even on a new world, the layout of the creative menu has changed, but that is it
