The minecraft launcher crashes on me when I run it

The minecraft launcher crashes when I run it
*What I expected to happen was...:The game would run and I would be at the main menu

What actually happened was...:
A crash report appeared displaying a bunch of lines of code and the game did not start

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run the launcher
2. Select play
3.Wait and watch the screen show error report
