Server connection issues

 

What I expected to happen was...: 

I expected to join a Minecraft java server without any problems. 

What actually happened was...:
What actually happened is when I tried joining a Minecraft java server it was stuck on pinging or logging in.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. From the Minecraft home screen click on multiplayer 
2. When I see the server list everything says pinging 
3. When I try joining, it gets stuck logging in or connecting to the server.
