Chiseled Bookshelf shelves don't face the player (while held) like a Carved Pumpkin's face does

The shelves on the Chiseled Bookshelf don't face the player when held in the hand, whereas the Carved Pumpkin does.

Notice how the Carved Pumpkin face is towards you in the hand regardless of its rotation in the hotbar?
