Vanilla texture corrupted

I booted up Minecraft 1.8.9 and found it to be corrupted with its textures the entire game is unplayable and the last thing I played on Minecraft was a vanilla server on 1.9 that used a custom resource pack. I am pretty sure it's the vanilla java file because when I booted up a forge version of 1.8.9 I found it was completely normal. I've reinstalled Minecraft and removed all files, but I still get the same issue now. I went into a single-player to see if the main menu was corrupted but found it was everything. I know this isn't a bug related to the current version of Minecraft but I'm desperate to get it fixed.
