You are able to survive in the void/player desync while falling in a boat chest through and end gateway

I was investigating facts of and about the End-portal that is used to travel from the End to the End-Islands.
Describe what you thought should happen here

I found an infinite way to survive in the End void!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to the End_Island-gateway-portal and enter.
2. next break all the bedrock around the portal except for the bottom block.
((2.) place an "minecraft:oak_planks" on top of the portal block.)
3. on the top block place a "minecraft:oak_chest_boat" on to the bedrock and get in.
4. next; break the block beneath the boat whilst in the boat.
