I open up minecraft launcher hit "play" and then it crashes

That I would be able to play the game minecraft.

What actually happened was...:
When I clicked on play it crashed

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the launcher for minecraft
2. Hit "play"
3. Wait for it to crash
