Minecraft does not allow output of audio to change device..

oddly enough, I can't change the output stream of 1.6 clients there aren't any console messages to put here, but I've taken a video and posted it to Youtube as evidence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCLjz0z2K-c

I realize this is likely an edge-case scenario, true. but it does present a problem.. I can't record my Let's Play..

the issue affect both Multiplayer (Seen in video) and Singleplayer, so it's certainly the client.
