Chat/Signs aren't working.

So, me and my friends started playing a realm, and when we weren't in VC I tried using the in-game chat. I thought I was just being ignored, so I tried placing signs in front of them, and they still ignored it.

I messaged them on discord to see what was going on, and they said they couldn't see my chats/sign messages.

Is this happening for anybody else?
