Stonecutter and copper glitch

so when a player puts a single piece of copper into a stonecutter, they are able to receive four pieces of that stonecutter item they need. So lets say i were to put in 1 piece of copper, I could get four stairs out of the stonecutter. And I assume this works for stone, and quartz, etc...
