Pressing and holding Inventory key causes screen to flash rapidly

The bug & how to reproduce:

Pressing and holding down the key to open the Inventory (default E) for more than a second causes the inventory screen to flash rapidly.

Note:

I discovered this accidentally, and figured it was important to mention since it may affect users with photosensitive epilepsy if they similarly hold down the key by accident.
