Can't Alt + Tab while Mojang Studios loading screen is active

When the loading screen with the Mojang Studios logo appears, I can't alt+tab to any other window. It's basically forcing me to wait until the screen has finished, which is really annoying when I'm trying to do other things and boot up Minecraft at the same time.
