door doesn't get placed correctly when using command bock to place door

So I was trying to make something with command blocks, but when I put in the command to place the door (fill 37 70 -19 37 70 -19 minecraft:oak_door) and when I activated the command block, only the bottom half of the door showed up, but when I put a block where the upper half should have been, the door broke.
