Buckets aren't working

This bug is happening in Multiplayer Survival on the MeepNetworks servers. I can't pick up nor place water, and I'm assuming lava as well. There is an attached video to view that shows this in process. If anyone has any thoughts, please comment. It was happening in singleplayer minecraft as well until I reinstalled Minecraft completely.
