Cannot enter nether portal in singleplayer world

I walk into the portal, the screen effect happens, then nothing. It just sits there.

Some things to note:

1) I created the world right when 1.18 came out

2) I can enter nether portals on brand new worlds

3) I recently migrated my account from a Mojang account to a Microsoft account, if that holds any significance 

4) I play with Fabric, a shader pack and 2 mods. Those mods being Fabric Waystones and the timber mod

5) I cannot enter the portal even on a vanilla game with no shaders or mods

I am very confused and would like to hopefully solve this issue so I can keep the world.
