Infinite elytra rockets (Flight duration is 1)

I am playing on a vanilla 1.18.2 server, but the boost stayed infinitely when I used my elytra with some basic Flight Duration 1 rockets. The particles also happened while I was walking, and it has a weird "pulsing" effect in midair. Not sure why this would occur though. (Sorry for no audio, obs was acting up). It goes away after rejoining the server, so possibly a client-side bug.

 

Edit: I believe the cause was using a firework during the same tick that I hit the ground, but I haven't been able to replicate it since.
