Piston powered until block update

Piston is powered when it shouldn't be until a block update happens next to it.

What I expected to happen was...:
The piston gets unpowered once the redstone line is unpowered.

What actually happened was...:
After pressing a button the piston was powered and remained powered until I broke the block the sticky piston was pushing.
