minecraft will not respond/open on my macOS computer

my minecraft was working ever since i got it for slightly longer than a week. i thought everything would be fine, but then one day i couldnt open it. so i did some digging, did tutorials that didnt work, and it still will not budge. the application isnt responding, what do i do??

i'm pretty sure my minecraft corrupted. i'll be able to fix it somehow.
