Longer Invulnerability time when on Mac

Although I think it might have something to do with being on a mac, I have noticed multiple times when jumping off ledges I can become completely invulnerable for multiple minutes, this only works for fall damage for some reason though. I have noticed it only happens when I try to place a full block down before landing however it doesn't place.

I know there is some invulnerability time after dying but for it to only be for fall damage and for multiple minutes it seems like a bug.

I have tried recreating it on PC however it never seems to happen.
