Sculk shriekers occasionally activate when player walks on wool

I have been exploring the deep dark in my survival world, and have been placing wool bridges in the ancient city. I take great care to only walk on wool when near sensors/shriekers. However, when I am simply walking/sprinting/jumping on wool, shriekers sometimes activate
