Wardens avoid lava and fire despite their immunity

If wardens are immune to fire and lava, I'd expect their pathfinding to reflect it. Yet, when I put one in the nether, it refused to swim in the lava despite having that power. Magma cubes swim in lava. Why doesn't the warden do it too?
