Cannot spawn enderman (probably other mobs as well) in Easy/Normal/Hard

Was trying to try out sculk catalyst and I chose an Enderman, but it just wouldn't spawn...

I'm doing this quite quickly, and I have no idea if there are any other mobs that have the same problem.
