1.19 experimental snapshot does not show up in the versions option of the instillation menu even after putting the downloaded file into the versions folder

I downloaded the 1.19 snapshot file and then put in a folder, seeing as it was only a .json file when I downloaded it. Then, after following the instructions, and putting the folder into the game's versions folder, I went to the instillation menu on the game's launcher. But the 1.19 version wasn't there. What do I do?
