every time i try to write in chat and send the message it crashes my MC

What I expected to happen was...:
was for my message to be sent so I can talk to other minecrafters.

What actually happened was...:
I press enter to send the message then it Crashes my MC.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.start typing in chat box.
2. press enter to send the message.
