Every time I want to chat on minecraft it shuts down by itself

What I expected to happen was...:
I could chat.

What actually happened was...:
Minecraft crashed as soon as i pressed enter after talking or typing or whatever you wanna call it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Went on a multiplayer server
2. Pressed T to chat and wrote Hi.
3. I pressed enter and minecraft crashed
