crash when selecting creative mode on LAN map

Game crashes when trying to select creative mode in the too many items mod window. This happened when on a LAN map but it also happens if I try and change from creative mode to something else, or something else to creative mode when not on a LAN map either. The mod is the 1.4.2 version.
