Piston BUD issue

I have noticed an issue where redstone wire on a solid block is sometimes constantly powering a piston beneath and one the beneath (via BUD) but not updating when depowered. Depending on location/orientation I need to put a regular piston in a certain place in order to update the pistons correctly. I couldnt find if this was previously reported.
