Water breaking tripwire duplicates string

Place a dispenser with a water bucket and place a 3+ block-long length of tripwire such that the entire line of tripwire will be washed out by the water from the dispenser once activated.

Activate the dispenser and pick up the string dropped by the destruction of the tripwire. It will be one more than was placed down.

This appears to happen regardless of direction, whether the tripwire hooks themselves are wiped out, distance from the source, and can happen in cases where not all of the string is wiped out–this is just the most reliable method of replication. The key seems to be the water flowing into multiple blocks of the same tripwire and causing it to revert back to unconnected string. I was unable to replicate the bug with a tripwire length shorter than 3 blocks or in cases where only one block of the tripwire was getting washed out.

Updating the tripwire mid-washout, such as by it activating/de-activating, can prevent the duplication.
