Minecraft Randomly Crashing Because of 1.6

I like playing survival games on public servers and randomly "JavaSE Binary has stopped working", Minecraft goes 'not responding' and I crash. This only happens in 1.6 versions as it never happened before. The last time it happened I was playing on hivemc.eu. My computer specs are:
Intel i5 3550P 3.1 GHZ
Nvidia Geforce 620
8 GB RAM
1000 GB Sata Hardrive
Windows 8 64 bit
