Realm connection fails "Internal Exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset"

When I try to connect to my Realm, the connection seems to take a long time, and then I get the following message:

"Internal Exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset"

Sometimes, I see a millisecond of blue sky before getting disconnected and getting this same message.

 

I have tried everything suggested in the 1.17 bug page for this issue (MC-227913) including the Mod Note. Nothing works.
